La Sistemática, Filogenia, Biología y Ecología de Syncarida Bathynellacea (crustáceos subterráneos) junto con el estudio de la biodiversidad acuática epikárstica en sistemas subterráneos han constituido mis intereses científicos prioritarios.

• Aproximación al conocimiento del medio acuático subterráneo en sentido amplio (cuevas, surgencias, pozos y medio intersticial).
• Estudio de la biodiversidad acuática epikárstica en sistemas subterráneos.
• Identificación de "hotspots" para la gestión de la conservación y puesta en valor de complejos subterráneos.
• Sistemática, Filogenia, Biología y Ecología de Syncarida Bathynellacea (crustáceos subterráneos).
• Taxonomía integrativa de Syncarida.
